Chemically Induced Spin Hyperpolarization: Coherence Formation in Reaction Products

چکیده

Abstract Chemically induced dynamic nuclear polarization (CIDNP) has emerged as a highly informative method to study spin-dependent radical reactions by analyzing enhanced NMR (nuclear magnetic resonance) signals of their diamagnetic reaction products. In this way, one can probe the structure elusive intermediates and determine parameters. A careful examination experimental CIDNP data at variable fields shows that formation hyperpolarized molecules in coherent state is ubiquitous though rarely discussed phenomenon. The presence spin coherences commonly leads subsequent transfer among coupled spins products recombination must be taken into account when results experiments low field. Moreover, such efficiently exploited polarize spins, which do not acquire directly. Here we explain under what conditions generated, focusing on key role level anti-crossings transfer, provide approaches probing time evolution. We illustrate theoretical consideration outlined phenomena examples, obtained for dipeptide tryptophan–tryptophan.

Chemically Induced Dynamic Spin Polarization

The Pedersen-Freed theory for chemically induced dynamic spin polarization CIDN(E)P is generalized to include the effects of anisotropic reactivities and anisotropic exchange interactions on the radical-pair mechanism. Detailed results are given for the simple case in which only one radical exhibits anisotropy that is approximated by a cosine distribution, and the rotational and translational m...

Chemically induced hairpin formation in DNA monolayers.

A naphthyridine dimer that binds specifically to G-G mismatches has been used to induce hairpin formation in oligonucleotides immobilized onto chemically modified gold surfaces. Surface plasmon resonance (SPR) imaging measurements of DNA microarrays were used to demonstrate that binding of the naphthyridine dimer to G-G mismatches within the stem portion of an immobilized 42-mer oligonucleotide...

Granuloma formation induced in mice by chemically defined mycobacterial fractions.

Amounts of trehalose-6,6-dimycolate as small as 1 to 5 mug can, after intravenous injection, induce in the lungs of mice formation of tubercles in which the cellular composition is indistinguishable from that in tubercles formed after an infection with living BCG bacilli. The strongest cellular response in mice was induced by cord factor from Mycobacterium kansasii; the weakest was induced by c...

Thermal effect and role of entanglement and coherence on excitation transfer in a spin chain

We analyze the role of bath temperature, coherence and entanglement on excitation transfer in a spin chain induced by the environment. In Markovian regime, we show that coherence and entanglement are very sensitive to bath temperature and vanish in time in contrary to the case of having zero-temperature bath. That is while, finding the last qubit of the chain in excited state increases by incre...
